I am Steve Slagle and I own South East Merchant Services, LLC. (SEMS) We are located in Asheville, NC.  I started in this business in 2000, after spending years in my own Satellite Television business. I had over 7000 customers in the area when I sold the business.  My retail experience has given me unique experience that I can share with merchants because I understand what many of them endure to follow their dreams.  This experience will also help you attain your goals.  In the Satellite business I built a sales force from the ground up, a sales force that sold thousands of systems in a short time. In a few years I have built, from the ground up, a business that includes hundreds of small to meduim size merchants as customers.  This gives me many benefits, But independence is the benefit I treasure most.  If I want to go to my sons ballgame I can go.  If I want to volunteer at church I can.  All because when my customers accept a payment form that they purchased from me, I earn a small residual. Now that I have literally hundreds of customers, doing tens of thousands of transactions a month I can afford to be with my kids all summer if I want.  I get paid 24-7-365...and you can too. That really is the best part, I can teach you how to do this too...read on if you are a self starter and motivated.

We sell Payment Processing: Credit Card, Debit Card, Gift and Loyalty Card, Check Guarantee and Truncation, Pay at the Pump, Fleet Cards and the equipment and software to process these payments.  Primary prospects are Restaurants and Retail, Convenience Stores etc.  This is all Business to Business, no nights or weekends unless you choose.

This is a great job for people that like their independence.  You can work when you want. No required sales meetings or calls.  If you are self motivated you can do well.  If you are not a great manager of your self then you need not apply.  For the first couple of years you will have to work hard.  After a couple of years your efforts seem to "come together" and the business builds quicker.  Notice:  I am not telling you this is a cake walk.  A good work ethic will be rewarded long term.

*When I said Residual Income above this is what I meant:  When you sign up a merchant for our services you are signing them to a three year agreement.  The merchant pays us to process payments like Credit Cards and Debit Cards.  You make a share of that income as long as the merchant is processing with us and you are in good standing with SEMS.  (details and the definition of Good Standing will be provided)

If you sell equipment such as the Counter Top Terminals you see in stores today you can make from 0 dollars to hundreds of dollars per  unit.  You decide.  You make that decision based on the situation.

Leads will be provided in some cases.  These are new phone connects.  You need to know how to approach them. We do not set appointments for you.  You can Mail, Cold Call or Phone to set appoinments and or make sales by Phone. 

Cold Calling is a quick way to jump start this business...but not required.  I cold called for 4 years and wrote hundreds of deals doing it. 

If you are experienced, such as Insurance, Pest Control, Yellow Page, Advertising etc you can do well.  If you do not have sales experience we can not train you.

You must have Internet connectivity and access to a fax machine.  We do not hire unless you have access to your own email as this is how we send forms and documents and pictures.

We also do not hire if you have a shady past.  A background check will be performed.

You could benefit from carrying a digital camera too but you can get by without one.
